The roadway is a paved, two-lane route that follows State Routes 39 and 150. A 23-mile portion of Route 150 serves as a scenic parkway section, which is closed during winter, not maintained in snowy conditions, and restricted to commercial truck traffic. Winter driving conditions can be dangerous, and travel on Route 150 between November and April is strongly discouraged. Restroom facilities at the overlooks are also unavailable during the winter months.

General Information

The Highland Scenic Highway may be closed when covered by snow. Visitors should check road conditions before planning a trip, especially during the colder months.
